For Liseberg, sustainability is about taking responsibility and adopting a long-term approach. Our approach to managing and developing our business is that Liseberg is on loan to us on behalf of future generations.

Liseberg strives to be a world leader in sustainable park operations and lead sustainable development in the amusement park industry.

Our systematic sustainability efforts are governed by Liseberg’s sustainability policy and management system.

Liseberg certified according to the ISO 20121 sustainability standard

In December 2021, Liseberg became the first amusement park in the world to be certified according to ISO 20121. This standard specifies requirements for event sustainability management systems. The operations at Lisebergsbyn and Liseberg’s camping Askim Strand also gained this certification in June 2023. The certification provides proof and acknowledgement that our sustainability efforts and commitment meet ISO requirements and that an independent third party has deemed we have the appropriate work procedures and requirements in place. ISO 20121 covers all dimensions of sustainability – environmental, social and economic – and the certification is expected to contribute to making visits to the park more sustainable while furthering Liseberg’s overall development.

Liseberg’s most important material topics

Because sustainability covers a wide range of topics and areas, Liseberg has conducted a materiality analysis to pinpoint the most important areas for us to focus on. This analysis examined what our stakeholders think is important, how our business impacts people and the environment, and what challenges and opportunities this means for us.
