They are one of Australia’s most visionary musical projects and have captivated millions with their euphoric fusion of electronic pop and surreal stage performances. It has been fifteen years since they last visited Sweden, and on 3 June at 8 pm the cosmic pop duo Empire of the Sun will finally take to Stora Scenen.

They are behind massive hits such as Walking on a Dream and We Are the People. Empire of the Sun, formed in 2007 by Luke Steele (The Sleepy Jackson) and Nick Littlemore (Pnau), have spent nearly two decades building their own pop universe where melodic electro‑pop meets cinematic stagecraft.

Empire of the Sun have established themselves as one of the most influential names in modern pop and electronic music. With over 5.5 million albums sold, 7.6 billion streams and multiple ARIA and APRA Awards, they are a global cultural force attracting a wide audience across generations.
Following their albums Walking on a Dream (2008), Ice on the Dune (2013) and Two Vines (2016), the duo returned in 2024 with Ask That God – an album that in many ways opened a new chapter, featuring singles such as “Changes” and “Cherry Blossom”. Only a few weeks ago, they released new music in the form of a collection of remixes of the iconic track “Alive”.
The audience can look forward to both beloved classics and brand‑new material when Empire of the Sun’s cosmic pop takes over Stora Scenen at Liseberg on 3 June – and the very thought of it makes the January chill feel a little easier to bear.
